Watch-Roll Independent

Swipe-based watch discovery with taste profiling and B2B dealer intelligence. Tinder mechanics applied to horological connoisseurship. The market learns your aesthetic, not the other way around.

Premise

Most people don't know what watch they want. They know it when they see it. Existing platforms are built for search, not discovery. Watch-Roll is built for the moment before you know what you're looking for.

Approach

A card swipe interface to rate watches. "This or That" head-to-head comparisons. The taste profile builds incrementally from implicit signals, so there's no explicit rating to fiddle with. On the dealer side, aggregated preference data becomes market intelligence. Which references are trending, what demographics are underserved, where demand is building before it surfaces in auction results.

Outcome

A working prototype covering mainline Swiss, independents, and microbrands. The B2B intelligence layer is the longer-term conviction. There's no aggregated preference data in the watch market today, and dealers price inventory almost entirely on instinct.
